Happy 2022! It has definitely been a ‘hot minute’ since I made my last blog post. Since then, quite a lot has happened… As 2022 has been settling in, I want to dedicate this post to some new year’s goals I envision for myself, what I hope to learn and do, and to help others establish their 2022 plans as well.

- Journal-Take up a new hobby.
Something I want to incorporate into my day-to-day routine is journaling. Whether it be taking a few minutes to jot down what I am grateful for or anything I might look forward to on that day, I think this is a crucial factor to help us appreciate the good in all the little things.
2. Post a Blog every week- Find your outlet.
I am trying to speak to others via my writing in the new year. This is a special outlet for me, and I know if I manage my time wisely, a blog post a week will be the ideal balance. I encourage every person to find a new hobby, something that will let your mind relax from those daily life struggles.
3. Travel- Life is about going on adventures.
In the fall of 2021, I transitioned back to living in Europe. This was not the easiest choice, but thus far, it has turned out to be one of the best decisions I have made for myself and my future. If you have a gut feeling telling you to travel and chase a dream, then do it. No one else’s opinion should matter, because at the end of the day, this is your life.
4. Education- Never stop learning.
This is a top priority for me this upcoming year. As I am finishing off my second year of dental school, excelling in my studies is my key to future success. Many days might feel never-ending as we lose motivation at times, but at the end of each day, we have to remember and remind ourselves why we started.
5. Manifest your Dream Life.
Does this mean creating a vision board for yourself? Yes, it totally does 😀 Not sure what it is, but something about capturing dreams, goals, quotes, and life’s opportunities via pictures is truly captivating. I think part of the fun in this one is that there is no “wrong” dream life. You are the only person in control of your dreams and the only one who can make those dreams a reality… one day at a time. Here is my current vision board ❤

6. Dress to Success.
Fashion! Fashion!! Fashion!!! Living in Europe makes me realize how style can up one’s confidence. I cannot wait to continue posting on my Instagram- blogging about new outfits and keeping up with all the latest trends.
Here is an outfit I put together this weekend featuring Pull & Bear, one of my favorite stores in Europe. Sweater vests are definitely my new favorite item for the year 🙂

7. Keep your ‘True Friends’ close- Let go of the rest.
If 2021 taught me anything, I truly learned who my closest friends were. Let me tell you…moving across the world really shows you if your friendships are genuine with your so-called “best friends,” or if they are simply strangers in your life.
8. Do the Unexpected.
Buy that dog…Move to another city… Date that person… Apply for a new job…Go back to school… Meet with a new friend … Do it ALL. 2022 is a new year, and as cliché as it sounds, “new year, new me.”

9. Clear out your Clutter.
This weekend, I played by this rule (only took about four hours). I decided to deep clean my whole apartment, but on top of that, I re-organized and cleaned out my whole closet. A new year often brings this one out in many of us, but it is important to let go of all that “clutter”-it is bad for mental health.
10. Give one Compliment a day.
Relationships, friendships, or even partnerships can be sparked by speaking your mind. Often times, walking down the street and seeing someone in that trendy outfit, smiling, or whatever the case may be, I always compliment this individual. I am an over-thinker, least to say, so when it comes to compliments, I always ask myself: “If I don’t tell this person whatever I want to say at that very moment, I lose my chance and will always wonder…what might or could have happened.”
Hopefully, you can make some of these goals your own in this new year ❤
Until next time,
Sharon
…and Lyla…
